Shaun Burrow received his Ph.D. in Family Therapy from TWU.  He earned his Master’s Degree in Marriage & Family Therapy along with his undergraduate degree in Biblical Studies from Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas.

Shaun is licensed in the State of Texas as a Marriage & Family Therapist Supervisor as well as a Licensed Professional Counselor.

Jim Murphy, M.MFT., LMFT

Jim Murphy received his Master’s Degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from Abilene Christian University and earned his undergraduate degree in business at Harding University, Searcy, Arkansas.  Jim is licensed in the State of Texas as a Marriage & Family Therapist.  He is a Clinical Fellow of the American Association for Marriage & Family Therapy (AAMFT).

Jim has a heart for helping couples prepare for marriage, overcome challenges, and thrive in their marriages.  He also has clinical interests in family dynamics, grief and loss, separation and divorce, spiritual and self-esteem concerns, educational goal attainment, personal finance concerns, and career change/job hunt challenges.

Yasmin Brown, MA, LMFT

Yasmin Brown received her Master’s of Arts degree in Counseling from Sam Houston State University and her Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University. Yasmin is licensed in the State of Texas as a Marriage and Family Therapist.

Yasmin’s clinical interests include marriage and family issues, women’s issues, trauma, addiction, spirituality, and wellness. She is a member of the Texas Counseling Association.

Gillean Wade, MS, LMFT

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

Gillean Wade received her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fuller Seminary in Pasadena, California and her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University.  She is licensed in the State of Texas as Marriage and Family Therapist.

Gillian is passionate about integrating a client’s spirituality into the therapeutic process.

She has a heart for working with children who are struggling with anxiety, depression, as well as issues due to stressors going on within the family.  Her clinical interests also include attachment issues, spiritual and self-esteem concerns, and disordered eating issues. Additionally she enjoys working with couples preparing for marriage and is a certified Prepare/Enrich facilitator.

Ashton McMillen received her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University, and her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University. Ashton has a passion for couples and families in all stages of life, including those who struggle with infidelity, communication breakdown, blended families, and parent-child conflict. Ashton also has a heart for individuals, including those struggling with depression, anxiety, spirituality, and personal growth. She is passionate about incorporating spirituality in healing relationships through a Biblically based, strategic approach.

Mariah Spengler, PhD, LPC

Mariah Spengler received her BA in Psychology from Furman University, MS in Kinesiology from University of Indiana, M.ED in Counseling from Vanderbilt University, and PhD in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Florida.

Mariah has a heart for working with couples and relationship issues.  She also loves working with health and wellness issues, life transition issues, career issues, stress and anxiety management, grief and loss, work life balance and aging related issues.

Dana has a passion to work with clients in all ages and stages of life.  She is trained in individual counseling as well as couples.  Her clinical interests include anxiety, depression, family issues, past trauma and abuse, and managing new and challenging life stages.

Jenny Roselius received her Master's Degree in Professional Counseling from LeTourneau University and has a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Texas. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern, Licensed to practice in Texas under the supervision of Shaun Burrow, PhD, LPC-Supervisor (#63973), LMFT-Supervisor.

Jenny believes that the relationship between a counselor and her client is a sacred one. Often, clients have struggled for months or even years before initiating treatment. Knowing this, Jenny desires to honor their struggle, their story, and the bravery they've exhibited to seek assistance by cultivating an environment of safety and encouragement to explore the problems clients face and the solutions they seek. Jenny's approach integrates a cognitive behavioral framework with a biblical worldview, utilizing mindfulness techniques and skills-building strategies.

 

Jenny's clinical focus includes working with individuals presenting with anxiety, depression, OCD, spiritual life concerns, identity development issues, disordered eating and body image issues. She is currently pursuing a CEDS (Certified Eating Disorder Specialist) certification as well.

Haley Sechelski, MA, LMFT-Associate

Haley Sechelski received her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Liberty University, and her undergraduate degree in Health Education from Texas A&M University. Monica Suarez, MA, LPC-Intern

Monica Suarez received her Master's Degree in Counseling from Sam Houston State University.  She is a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern, Licensed to practice in Texas under the supervision of Rabiah Shabazz-Houston, LPC-Supervisor (#60957).

 

Monica enjoys working with both individuals and couples.  She has a passion to work with clients of all ages and stages of life.  Her clinical interests include anxiety and stress management, depression, family issues, adjustment phase of life issues, career change and self-esteem concerns. Monica believes that the well-being of individuals has an effect on many areas in a person’s life.  Monica strives in helping her clients meet their goals in therapy, ultimately leading a life they find to be healthy, happy, and productive.

 

Monica has worked with acute psychiatric patients and with those struggling with everyday life issues.  She has an eclectic style that includes Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Person Centered Therapy and other methods that best fit the individual client.

Kathleen Yoakum, Office Manager

Kathleen is the first face you see when you come into the office.

 

She will assist you with appointment scheduling, payments, and answer any questions you have about your visit.  She has lived in College Station since 1998 and loves Aggieland.  She has been married 47 years with 2 married children and 6 grandchildren.

Shawn McCowan, MA,

Shawn McCowan earned his Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling from Texas Wesleyan University. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor - Intern, supervised by David Wells, LPC-S (#15643), and is licensed to practice in the state of Texas.

 

Shawn has developed a unique skillset from a lifetime of diverse experiences. Since early adulthood, he has been a leader and facilitator of youth and adult Bible studies  in many locations around the world. As a retired Air Force Veteran with 20 years of service, Shawn gained firsthand insight into the special challenges faced by our nation's servicemembers. As a professional journalist, he became an expert in research, serving many of America's top commanders and training the next generation of military professionals.

 

His combination of faith, knowledge, experience, and education allows him to help others explore, understand, and communicate the web of thoughts and feelings that drive our decisions and actions, both beneficial and harmful.

Shawn specializes in individuals, couples, and families experiencing high conflict, as well as veterans issues including PTSD.
